Why Johnny RIOT?

The answer to That question is easy.

1) My last name ( Schaffner ) gets misspelled a lot.

2) To compound the issue, my first name is William. So smash that together, and you get William Schaffner. There is another famous person with a very similar last name, who was the captain of a starship.

With that out of the way, let's talk about me. I'm a UX designer living in Austin, Texas, with my wife and three kids and a dog. I've been working in the design field since 2006. I specialize in designing mobile applications. Throughout my career, I have designed software and for everything from multi-million dollar oil rigs to Slot Machines. These experiences have taken me to the drilling platform of a few oil rigs, and casinos in Las Vegas.

My design philosophy embodies a human-centered, simplistic, and clean design aesthetic. Sketch and InVision are my trusted tools to create, maintain, and distribute design libraries. I find InVision particularly useful for aggregating feedback from key stakeholders. To me, Ux design should communicate with the audience in an elegantly understated way. I'm passionate about problem-solving and delivering the highest quality product to the client.
